A 457 Plan Review Keeps You Updated

CalPERS provides Plan reviews to agencies participating in the CalPERS Supplemental Income 457 Plan.

A Plan review gives you a snapshot of the 457 Plan at your agency:

  • Key statistics about participant activity, including the number of eligible employees and participant accounts, total and average contributions and total assets
  • Investment overview and performance
  • Recent 457 Plan changes, such as enhancements in technology and participant field services

This information helps you see how your 457 Plan is performing, where your education efforts are working and what areas offer opportunities for additional improvement. CalPERS can present your agency’s Plan review in person and as a written document.

To learn more or schedule a Plan review, please contact Dave Saavedra or call 1-916-795-3908.

Your 457 Plan Enrollment Form Checklist

As you enroll your employees in the CalPERS Supplemental Income 457 Plan, it’s very important to fill out Enrollment Forms completely. Here’s a checklist of steps to follow.

Fill in the employer name.
List the agency plan number.
Add the employer signature.
Recheck every page of the form to make sure all blanks are filled.
Send a completed Beneficiary Designation Form with the Enrollment Form.
Fax the forms to Voya® Institutional Plan Services, LLC at 1-888-228-6185.

Both the employer name and agency plan number are needed to identify which plan the participant belongs to. Forms that lack the employer signature cannot be accepted.

The enrollment process is done manually. When information is missing or Enrollment Forms are sent to CalPERS instead of Voya®, the process slows down. Dealing with follow-up phone calls and resubmitting forms just adds to your workload.

Make your life easier by doing it right the first time! You’ll also help:

  • Your employees begin saving and investing in the 457 Plan promptly.
  • Cut down on errors, delays and employee complaints.

If you have questions or need help with Enrollment or Beneficiary Designation Forms, contact your plan administrator.
